The country air, great surroundings and the serenity are the perfect backdrops to cast your line. Whether you are after a big catch or looking for a quiet time-out, want to push the boat out or teach the kids how to fish, Gunnedah Shire has great options – including the impressive Lake Keepit.
The reserve extends on both sides of the Blue Vale Road and is a designated Travelling Stock Reserve. Locals go here to fish for yellowbelly, catfish, carp, and shrimp. It will rarely flood as the water is controlled flow from Lake Keepit. There are no facilities at this location.
