Bindea Walking Track: To get an even better view of Gunnedah and the Namoi and Mooki River Valleys, head off along the Bindea Walking Track. The tracks start from the top of Porcupine Lookout and offer a range of walks that vary in length. These walks are popular for the bushland scenery and the serenity they offer – as well as the views!

Porcupine Walk: Distance – 4.5km, walking time – about two hours. This is one of the most popular of the Porcupine walks. It starts at the top of Porcupine and takes you through the Porcupine Reserve. There is also a shorter loop in this walk. Picnic and barbecue facilities are available along the way.

The Tower Walk: Distance - 2.9km, walking time - about 1 hour.

Starting at Anzac Park in South Street, this is a stroll through Gunnedah. Wander from the Dorothea Mackellar statue past the Gunnedah Memorial Pool, one of the State's best inland swimming complexes. The tree-lined streets are a feature.

On your bike: You and your family can start the cycleway from just about anywhere in town. The cycleway includes Stock Road, the Golf Course, Wandobah Road, both sides of Hunter Street, View Street, the Showground, parts of Marquis Street, Lincoln Street, parts of South Street, and follows Ashford watercourse from Lincoln Street into Hunter Street.

Stop along the way at one of the many parks and gardens around town for a picnic. Enjoy the picturesque scenery and abundant wildlife while discovering our charming country town. You may even spot a koala on your travels!
