Pick up some lunch at one of our cafes and pack a picnic for an afternoon at Lake Keepit, about 25 minutes drive from Gunnedah.

Lake Keepit is nearly the size of Sydney Harbour and is the home of a huge range of activities, from sailing to cycling.

Apart from the beautiful lake itself which is suitable for swimming and fishing, there is a fenced kids’ mini-water park, a skate park and BMX track. Lake Keepit Holiday Park offers accommodation and camping areas for those who would like to stay for more than a day.

Lake Keepit offers the perfect outdoor time for any family.

Why not see a movie while you are here? The cinema is located in Chandos Street at the Gunnedah Cultural Precinct and offers modern comfort with good old-fashioned country hospitality. Treat yourself to a choc-top or some popcorn at the kiosk and relax!

The Gunnedah Memorial Pool Complex is a state-of-the-art facility located in the middle of town amid a beautiful setting of trees and lawns.

The complex was originally established in the mid-1950s as a war memorial largely funded by community donations and voluntary labour. Major upgrades in 2018 have made this an even better facility for families, and kept the large war memorial located at the entrance to the pavilion to continue to pay tribute to those who served.

The complex features:

  • an eight-lane, 50m outdoor swimming pool
  • 25m indoor heated pool complex
  • kids water playground area
  • kids dry playground area
  • new pavilion and amenities
  • kiosk/cafe facilities
  • seating and shaded areas
  • Large open irrigated grassland areas.

The Gunnedah Memorial Pool is a perfect place to spend time with the family during the heat of summer.
